The Runaways Live

About The Runaways Live

How it all started

The Runaways Live did not begin with a website. It began in 2012 with a simple question: How much of The Runaways' live history had actually been documented?

At the time, only a basic list of concerts was circulating online. While it provided a useful starting point, it quickly became clear that many dates were incorrect, some performances were missing altogether, and very little information was available about individual shows. What started as curiosity soon became a long-term research project.

Over the years, hundreds of newspapers, concert advertisements, ticket stubs, photographs, recordings, tour itineraries, magazine articles, and other historical sources were examined in an effort to reconstruct the band's live history as accurately as possible. Along the way, many collectors and fans generously shared their memories, photographs, recordings, and original memorabilia, making it possible to document performances that might otherwise have been forgotten.

Today, The Runaways Live represents more than a decade of independent research dedicated to preserving the band's concerts, television appearances, and surviving live recordings.

About the author

My name is Lukáš Bosík, and I am a collector and longtime fan of The Runaways, based in Slovakia.

Although I was born long after the band had already disbanded and never had the opportunity to see them perform live, their music sparked an interest that eventually grew into a passion for researching and preserving their live history.

What began as collecting memorabilia gradually evolved into documenting concerts, identifying recordings, studying historical sources, and trying to answer questions that had remained unresolved for decades.

Research never ends

One of the most fascinating aspects of this project is that it is never truly finished. Even today, new photographs continue to surface, forgotten recordings are rediscovered, and previously unknown newspaper articles occasionally reveal concerts whose existence had long been forgotten.

Every new discovery has the potential to improve the archive. For that reason, The Runaways Live is continually reviewed and updated whenever new evidence becomes available.

Thank you

This archive would not exist without the help of many generous fans and collectors from around the world. Every photograph, recording, ticket stub, poster, newspaper clipping, correction, or personal memory shared over the years has helped make this archive more accurate and complete.

Special thanks also go to Queen Concerts, whose outstanding work documenting Queen's live history became a major inspiration for creating a similar archive dedicated to The Runaways.

To everyone who has contributed in any way - thank you.
