Description:

This night was also professionally recorded for the upcoming Live In Japan album, and although the album is a compilation of three Tokyo concerts, nearly half of the songs are from this night. Some songs have been used only partially in the final mix.

Songs that didn't get it on the final cut of the Live In Japan album were later used for other releases, such as the Flaming Schoolgirls compilation and the British I Love Playing With Fire compilation LP. See Live In Japan analysis for more details.

A documentary titled The Runaways - Tokyo performance (ザ・ランナウェイズ 東京公演) capturing most of the second concert in Tokyo with a lot of additional footage following The Runaways in Japan (arriving to Japan, Nippon Phonogram press conference, rehearsals at Yamaha studios, walking the streets of Tokyo) was filmed for Nippon Phonogram/UDO Music Office for promotional purposes. Various music shops used to rent these promotional films from the record companies and show them to fans in local theaters and halls.

This footage was most likely originally filmed on 36 mm film, but later copied on Betamax tape to secure the final product. That Betamax tape somehow got into circulation among fans and collectors, and what we have now is a higher-generation copy of that tape.

Interestingly, two different edits of this documentary exist. One is a little shorter, and it's completely missing You Drive Me Wild and uses different footage of The Runaways in Japan in several spots.

This documentary was possibly never broadcast on television in its entirety, but Cherry Bomb was re-broadcast several times on various music programs, and it's the only clip that survived in excellent quality.
